Do fat cells move after Liposuction?

Model

No, fat cells do not move they expand to accommodate weight gain and shrink when weight is lost. We are born with a certain amount fat cells that stay with us all throughout our life expanding and shrink to accommodate weight gain and loss. There are certain areas of your body that have a higher concentration of fat cells such as our love handles.

Procedures such as Liposuction are aimed at helping to remove some fat cells from problem areas with high concentrations of fat cells. If you gain weight after a liposuction procedure, you existing fat cells will expand to accommodate the weight, but is too much fat is taken out of a certain area the weight gain may be uneven.
