Can frequent sitting affect the results of a Brazilian Butt Lift?

Model

With a Brazilian Butt Lift, fat is transferred from various parts of the body to the buttocks to re-shape and augment the glutes. After the procedure, it is important to minimize sitting for prolonged periods of time. The reason is that the fat has not integrated itself to your tissues so the buttocks may flatten or loose projection. Also, sitting can cause trauma to the newly placed fat so the process of blood vessel ingrowths, which is necessary for fat survival, may be disrupted.

The board certified plastic surgeons at PREMIERE Center for Cosmetic Surgery recommend that after a fat transfer, patients minimize sitting for six weeks. If you have a sitting job, we recommend using a donut-shaped pillow to minimize the trauma from sitting, sleep on your stomach for at least couple of week, walk and stand the day following surgery, and wear compression garments for 4-6 weeks over the areas where liposuction was performed.
