What is the best ointment/cream/oil/lotion to use on a surgical incision scar?

At PREMIERE Center for Cosmetic Surgery our board certified plastic surgeons recommend that our patients use BioCorneum to treat any surgical incision scar as well as any other scars they may have. BioCorneum is a 100% Silicone based scar treatment that can be used starting 6 weeks after surgery, when the incision scar is completely healed. This product is a silicone gel, that when applied of the affected area, works by forming a protective film that hydrates the scar and allows the scar to mature improving the appearance of the scar. BioCorneum also has an SPF of 30 to prevent darkening of the scar from exposure to UV rays. The gel is applied twice daily and can be covered by compression garments or other cosmetics. I recommend this cream to any who wants to reduce the appearance of their scars. You can visit out offices in Tampa and in Miami to find out more about this BioCorneum and how it can improve your scar.
