Face Lift and Neck Lift (Rhytidectomy)

PREMIERE Center for Cosmetic Surgery provides Face Lifts and Neck Lifts to patients from Miami, Tampa Bay, St. Petersburg, Fort Lauderdale and surrounding areas.

A face lift, or rhytidectomy, is among the most common cosmetic surgeries available today. To maximize the results of a face lift, the board-certified doctors at PREMIERE Center for Cosmetic Surgery remove excess fat, tighten muscles and re-drape skin. The procedure improves sagging facial features, jowls and loose skin around the neck. It is the most effective way to rejuvenate and re-contour the lower two-thirds of your face. At PREMIERE 's locations in Miami and Tampa Bay, our surgeons have performed hundreds of safe and affordable face lifts for over 15 years.

How are a Face Lift and Neck Lift Performed?

Through the years, the face lift procedure has improved to offer patients more natural-looking and long-lasting results. Before the 1980s, surgeons merely lifted the outer skin of the face. Unfortunately, the results looked "done," as merely pulling the skin fails to address the underlying support tissues.

Our surgeons at PREMIERE use a more comprehensive approach. Not only do they raise the skin, but they also lift the underlying fat and muscle layers, taking the tissue, sculpting it and suturing it in place. By doing so, our surgeons can restore the natural relationship among the skin, muscle and fat. This technique still maintains the normal blood circulation in the flap that is being repositioned and allows for more natural results.

At PREMIERE's sites in Miami and Tampa Bay, our surgeons use several face lift techniques. Most surgeries begin with an incision that starts above the hairline at the temple, then courses down to follow the natural line in front of the ear and around the earlobe, finally ending in the hairline behind the ear.

Your surgeon will separate the skin from the underlying muscles and pull the skin back. He or she will then trim and tighten the underlying muscle, secure the layers of tissue and then re-drape the skin. The incisions are strategically hidden in the hairline and natural creases of the face, so they become almost invisible over time.

The face lift not only helps to rejuvenate the face by taking away skin folds, but it also restores the harmony of facial shapes. Sometimes aging can take the angles away; a face lift can bring them back, in many cases making you look 10 to 15 years younger.

A face lift is typically a three- to four-hour procedure, with minimal post-operative discomfort. It is done on an outpatient basis, in the privacy and comfort of our fully accredited (AAAASF) cosmetic surgery suites in Miami and Tampa. Whether you work with the highly skilled and experienced cosmetic plastic surgeons at PREMIERE, please make sure you have your face lift at a fully accredited facility and performed by a board-certified plastic surgeon.

Face Lift and Neck Lift Before and After Pictures

Photos of former patients can often tell you a lot about a particular procedure. To fully research a rhytidectomy, you should make sure to view various face lift before and after pictures. When you attend your initial meeting with one of our surgeons in Miami or Tampa Bay, remember to ask about PREMIERE's collection of facelift photos. We will be more than happy to share them with you.

How Much Do a Face Lift and Neck Lift Cost?

Before you commit to any cosmetic surgery, it is important that you gather information about the affordability of the procedure. The surgeons and staff at PREMIERE encourage you to ask questions about face lift prices during your initial consultation in our Miami or Tampa Bay office. The cost varies from patient to patient, but we will work hard to find a financial solution that works for you.

Are a Face and Neck Lift Right for Me?

At PREMIERE's locations in Miami and Tampa Bay, face lifts are most commonly performed on men and women ages 40 and older. You may want to consider a rhytidectomy if your face and neck are experiencing any of the following:
  • Sagging in the mid-face

  • Deep creases below the lower eyelids

  • Deep creases running from the nose to the corners of the mouth

  • "Jowls" caused by loss of muscle tone in the lower part of the face

  • Displaced fat

  • Loose skin and excess fatty deposits under the chin and jaw
What Can I Expect After a Face Lift and Neck Lift?

It is typical to have swelling, bruising and numbness following your rhytidectomy. You will have a series of follow-up appointments at either our Miami or Tampa Bay facility to keep track of your progress. Our face lift patients generally return to work and/or light activity within one week, although it may take several weeks before they can begin strenuous exercise. Because each person's anatomy is different, your results may vary.
