Face and Neck Lift (Rhytidectomy)
The Face Lift, or Rhytidectomy, is among the most common surgical techniques in cosmetic surgery today. To maximize the results of a Face Lift, the Board Certified cosmetic plastic surgeons at PREMIERE Center remove excess fat, tighten muscles, and re-drape skin to improve sagging facial features, jowls, and loose skin around the neck. It is the most effective way to rejuvenate and re-contour the lower two thirds of the face and is most commonly performed on men and women ages 40 and older. PREMIERE Center for Cosmetic Surgery in Miami and Tampa has performed hundreds of safe and affordable Face Lift procedures over the past fifteen (15) years.
The Face Lift procedure has improved to offer patients more natural looking and long-lasting results. Before the 1980’s, surgeons merely lifted the outer skin of the face. Unfortunately, the results looked “done”, as merely pulling the skin fails to address the underlying support tissues. The cosmetic plastic surgeons at PREMIERE Center use a more comprehensive, longer-lasting, and more natural looking approach.
Not only do the cosmetic plastic surgeons at PREMIERE Center lift the skin, but they also lift the underlying fat and muscle layers, taking the tissue, sculpting it and suturing it in place. In this way, the cosmetic plastic surgeons restore the natural relationship among the skin, muscle, and fat. This technique still maintains the normal blood circulation in the flap that is being repositioned and allows the cosmetic plastic surgeons at PREMIERE Center to achieve more natural results.
The cosmetic plastic surgeons at PREMIERE use different approaches to Face Lift techniques, beginning by making an incision above the hairline at the temple and extending it down toward the natural line in front of the ear and around the earlobe, into the hairline behind the ear. The cosmetic plastic surgeons then separate the skin from the underlying muscles, pulling the skin back, trimming and tightening the underlying muscle, then securing the layers of tissue and re-draping the skin. The incisions are strategically hidden in the hairline and natural creases of the face so that they become almost invisible over time.
The Face Lift not only helps to rejuvenate the face by taking away skin folds, but it also restores the harmony of facial shapes. Sometimes aging can take the angles away; a Face Lift can bring them back, in many cases making you look 10 to 15 years younger.
The cosmetic plastic surgeons at PREMIERE Center for Cosmetic Surgery in Miami and Tampa help patients determine the expected result depending on each individual person’s anatomy and/or preferences.
A Face Lift is typically a three to four-hour procedure, with minimal post-operative discomfort. Patients typically return to work and/or light activity within one week. Although, most patients are back to work and non-physical social activities in about a week, it may take several weeks before patients can begin strenuous exercise. Each person’s anatomy is different and your results may vary, which is why PREMIERE Center offers FREE consultations with our Board Certified cosmetic plastic surgeons.
The Face Lift procedure is done on an outpatient basis, in the privacy and comfort of our fully accredited (AAAASF) cosmetic surgery suites in Miami and Tampa.
Whether you are going to have your surgery with the highly skilled and experienced cosmetic plastic surgeons at PREMIERE Center or not, please make sure you have your surgery at a fully accredited facility and have the Face Lift procedure performed by a Board Certified Plastic surgeon.
