The Face Lift, or Rhytidectomy, is among the most common surgical techniques in cosmetic surgery today. The cosmetic plastic surgeons then separate the skin from the underlying muscles, pulling the skin back, trimming and tightening the underlying muscle, then securing the layers of tissue and re-draping the skin. The incisions are strategically hidden in the hairline and natural creases of the face so that they become almost invisible over time.

The Face Lift not only helps to rejuvenate the face by taking away skin folds, but it also restores the harmony of facial shapes. Sometimes aging can take the angles away; a Face Lift can bring them back, in many cases making you look 10 to 15 years younger.

A Face Lift is typically a three to four-hour procedure, with minimal post-operative discomfort. Patients typically return to work and/or light activity within one week. Although, most patients are back to work and non-physical social activities in about a week, it may take several weeks before patients can begin strenuous exercise.
