PREMIERE Center for Cosmetic Surgery provides Ear Surgery to patients from Miami, Tampa Bay, St. Petersburg, Fort Lauderdale and surrounding areas.
Ear surgery, or otoplasty, is done to set prominent ears closer to the head or to reduce the size of large ears. Otoplasty is commonly known as "ear pinning." The procedure creates a natural shape for your ears and improves your facial symmetry. At PREMIERE Center for Cosmetic Surgery in Miami and Tampa Bay, our doctors have performed hundreds of safe and affordable ear surgery procedures for over 15 years.
How is Ear Surgery Performed?
At PREMIERE Center, ear surgery is typically a one- to two-hour procedure, with minimal post-operative discomfort and little downtime. The operation is done on an outpatient basis, in the privacy and comfort of our fully accredited (AAAASF) cosmetic surgery suites in Miami and Tampa.
For protruding ears, the surgery will usually create or increase the antihelical fold (just inside the rim of the ear) and reduce enlarged conchal cartilage (the largest and deepest concavity of the external ear). Any incisions are typically hidden behind the ear in the "ear crease," so there are no visible scars.
Whether you work with the highly skilled and experienced cosmetic plastic surgeons at PREMIERE, please make sure you have your otoplasty at a fully accredited surgery facility and performed by a board-certified plastic surgeon.
Ear Surgery Before and After Pictures
People are often very pleased with the results of their otoplasty procedure because it eliminates the embarrassment associated with large or protruding ears. To see the difference this operation has made in the appearance of other patients, please look at various ear surgery before and after pictures. Both of PREMIERE's offices in Miami and Tampa have ear surgery photos that you can review.
How Much Does Ear Surgery Cost?
The price of ear surgery in the Miami and Tampa Bay regions varies based on the extent of the procedure. To discuss pricing, or any other aspect of otoplasty surgery, please contact PREMIERE today to set up your free initial consultation.
Is Ear Surgery Right for Me?
For the most part, the operation is done on children between the ages of 4 through 14, but a growing number of adults are choosing ear pinning to improve their overall look and aesthetics. Ears are almost fully grown by age 4, and the earlier the ear pinning, then the less teasing and ridicule the child will have to endure. At PREMIERE, our Miami and Tampa Bay ear surgery patients are normally looking to treat:
- Overly large ears (a rare condition called macrotia)
- Protruding ears occurring on one or both sides in varying degrees (not associated with hearing loss)
- Adult dissatisfaction with previous ear surgery
What Can I Expect After Ear Surgery?
Once your otoplasty is complete, you can expect your ears to be swollen, bruised and numb. Your head will generally be wrapped in a thick bandage, which will help maintain the new position of your ears and promote healing. Our staff at PREMIERE will schedule a series of follow-up appointments in either Miami or Tampa Bay to check on your ear surgery progress. Because each person's anatomy is different, your results may vary.
PREMIERE Center for Cosmetic Surgery is proud to offer ear surgery to patients throughout the Miami and Tampa Bay regions, including residents of Fort Lauderdale and St. Petersburg. Our surgeons and medical team are committed to providing the best care with the best results. To learn more about otoplasty and to speak with one of our board-certified doctors, please book a consultation with us today.
